After January 12, 1984, the world of pop was never the same: on that day, Alphaville released "Big In Japan", launching an incredible triumphal march around the world with their debut single. Not only did the song instantly reach number one on the charts in Germany, Sweden, Switzerland and the US Billboard Dance Charts, but it also went straight into the Top 10 in the UK and many other countries around the world. In Germany, it became the best-selling single of 1984! And yet it was only the start of a much bigger adventure: after the worldwide success of the first single Marian Gold, Bernhard Lloyd and Frank Mertens recorded the album "Forever Young", which still enjoys international cult status today. Now the legendary album is released in a super deluxe edition with three CDs, a DVD and vinyl, as well as a deluxe double CD with the original singles, B-sides and maxi versions and as a vinyl LP. All formats present the album for the first time in remastered form. Prior to the release of the original album, the second single "Sounds Like A Melody" was released and again reached #1 in Sweden and Top 10 in several European countries (Germany #3). Along with the album, the title track "Forever Young" was released on September 27, 1984, causing a worldwide sensation and has been one of the world's biggest pop anthems ever since. Perhaps no other song has been covered so often and in all genres (from Imagine Dragons to rapper Jay-Z to Kim Wilde) and used in films and TV shows. The album "Forever Young" broke into the Top 20 in six European countries, won triple gold status in Germany and was awarded the Rockbjörnen Award for "Best Foreign Album" in Sweden. The super deluxe version presents the album in high quality remastered sound with lots of additional material. CD 1 contains the remastered original album with the songs "Big In Japan", "Sounds Like A Melody" and "Forever Young". CD 2 features the original versions of the singles, b-sides and maxisingly. CD 3 contains 16 rarities demos and alternate versions and even early German-language Alphaville tracks. The DVD includes the 60-minute documentary "Never Grow Up - The Story of Forever Young" with actual interviews with Marian Gold, Bernhard Lloyd, original album producers Colin Pearson and Wolfgang Loos, as well as the original music videos for "Forever Young", "Big In Japan", "Jet Set" and "Sounds Like A Melody". A 24-page vinyl-sized booklet completes the package. Created by the original album's art director in close collaboration with the band, it features a number of rare and previously unpublished photographs, as well as sleeve notes, quotes and production notes from the band, then A&R and producer. "Producing the 'Forever Young' album was a great adventure at the time and the result was almost perfect for us. We focused on a vinyl album because in 1984, CD mastering was still in its infancy. Luckily I managed to find all the original analogue tapes, which were only recorded as security at the time. Thanks to the new mastering, the album now sounds much warmer, rounder and more transparent - just as we imagined it would back then," says Bernhard Lloyd. The 2-CD deluxe version of "Forever Young" consists of CD 1 and CD 2 of the super deluxe edition. In addition, the original album is remastered on 180 gram vinyl and is thus available on LP for the first time in many years.

Po 12. lednu 1984 už svět popu nikdy nebyl stejný: v tento den vyšla skladba "Big In Japan" skupiny Alphaville, která se svým debutovým singlem zahájila neuvěřitelné vítězné tažení po celém světě. Píseň se katapultovala nejen přímo na první místo hitparád v Německu, Švédsku, Švýcarsku a v americkém žebříčku Billboard Dance Charts, ale také přímo do první desítky ve Velké Británii a mnoha dalších zemích světa. V Německu se stala nejprodávanějším singlem roku 1984! A přitom to byl jen začátek mnohem většího dobrodružství: po celosvětovém úspěchu prvního singlu Marian Gold nahráli Bernhard Lloyd a Frank Mertens album "Forever Young", které se dodnes těší mezinárodnímu kultovnímu statusu.

Nyní toto legendární album vychází v super deluxe edici se třemi CD, DVD a vinylem, stejně jako deluxe dvojCD s původními singly, B-stranami a maxi verzemi a vinylovým LP. Všechny formáty představují album poprvé remasterované.

Ještě před vydáním původního alba vyšel druhý singl "Sounds Like A Melody", který se opět dostal na první místo ve Švédsku a v několika evropských zemích se dostal do top 10 (Německo na 3. místo). Společně s albem byla 27. září 1984 vydána titulní píseň "Forever Young", která způsobila celosvětovou senzaci a od té doby je jednou z největších světových popových hymen. Málokterá jiná píseň byla tak často a napříč všemi žánry (od Imagine Dragons po rappera Jay-Z a Kim Wilde) přebírána a používána ve filmech a televizních seriálech. Album "Forever Young" se dostalo do top 20 v šesti evropských zemích, v Německu dosáhlo trojnásobného zlatého statusu a ve Švédsku získalo cenu Rockbjörnen za "Nejlepší zahraniční album".

Super deluxe verze představuje album ve vysoce kvalitním, remasterovaném zvuku se spoustou dalšího materiálu. CD 1 obsahuje remasterované původní album s písněmi "Big In Japan", "Sounds Like A Melody" a "Forever Young". CD 2 představuje původní singlové verze, B-strany a maxisingly. CD 3 obsahuje 16 raritních demosnímků a alternativních verzí a dokonce i rané německojazyčné skladby Alphaville. DVD obsahuje 60minutový dokument "Never Grow Up - The Story of Forever Young" s aktuálními rozhovory s Marianem Goldem, Bernhardem Lloydem, producenty původního alba Colinem Pearsonem a Wolfgangem Loosem a dalšími a také původní videoklipy k písním "Forever Young", "Big In Japan", "Jet Set" a "Sounds Like A Melody".

Balení doplňuje 24stránkový booklet o velikosti vinylu. Vytvořil jej umělecký ředitel původního alba v úzké spolupráci s kapelou a obsahuje řadu vzácných a dosud nepublikovaných fotografií, stejně jako poznámky k lineru, citáty a produkční poznámky od kapely, tehdejšího A&R a producenta. "Produkce alba 'Forever Young' byla v té době velkým dobrodružstvím a výsledek byl pro nás téměř dokonalý. Zaměřili jsme se na vinylové album, protože v roce 1984 byl mastering CD ještě v plenkách. Naštěstí se mi ještě podařilo sehnat všechny původní analogové master pásky, které se tehdy vlastně nahrávaly jen jako bezpečnostní. Díky novému masteringu teď album zní mnohem vřeleji, kulatěji a transparentněji - přesně tak, jak jsme si ho tehdy představovali," říká Bernhard Lloyd.

Deluxe verze "Forever Young" na 2 CD se skládá z CD 1 a CD 2 super deluxe edice. Původní album bylo navíc remasterováno na 180gramovém vinylu, takže je poprvé po mnoha letech k dispozici na LP.
