The new recording of Dvořák's symphonies marks the triumphant return of the Czech Philharmonic to the catalogue of the world-renowned Decca label - and under the direction of maestro Jiří Bělohlávek, winner of several Grammophone Awards.This is the first Dvořák cycle for Decca since 1960.

The recordings were recorded in high-definition 24bit 96kHz and are also being released in a special version for iTunes as "mastered for iTunes".

The complete set of nine symphonies on 6CD is complemented by Dvořák's three concertos for violin, cello and piano with leading cellist Alisa Weilerstein, Frank-Peter Zimmermann on violin and Garrick Ohlsson on piano.

Jiří Bělohlávek has revived this first-class orchestra with renewed energy and vigour. At the right time, he has recorded a new cycle of these important Czech works with an elite Czech ensemble that lives and breathes this music in the acoustically finest hall in the Czech Republic - the Rudolfinum in Prague.

The Czech Philharmonic will undertake a major European tour with Maestro Bělohlávek in 2014, including a complete cycle of Antonín Dvořák's symphonic poems in Prague (September 2014).
