Based on the themes played together by Benny Golson and Lee Morgan, Bobby Timmons' "church" piano, Jymie Merritt's cat-like bass lines, and Art Blakey's drums that sound like a full orchestra and showcase the constant swing of the cymbals, it is more than the sound of a large group that is the true essence of the golden era of jazz.
