BadBadNotGood is a Canadian jazz band from Toronto, Ontario. The band consists of Matthew Tavares (keyboards), Chester Hansen (bass) and Alexander Sowinski (drums). They formed in 2011 and released their debut album BBNG in 2012. Their second album, BBNG2, was released in 2013. In 2014 they released their third album, III.

Badbadnotgood is a young, extremely talented trio consisting of Matthew Tavares (keyboards), Chester Hansen (bass) and Alex Sowinski (drums). They've worked with Frank Ocean, Earl Sweatshirt, MF Doom, Pharaoh Monch, RZA and many more and have played every major festival from Coachella to Glastonbury in 2013. Since enrolling in Humber College's Music Performance program in 2011, all three have been striving to break the rules of improvised instrumental music and bring jazz into the future. They soon came to the attention of the likes of the BBC's Gilles Peterson and Tyler The Creator, who discovered them through a series of live jams that immediately went viral and earned them the nickname 'Odd Trioô'. In June 2011 they released their first EP "BBNG" to great acclaim and praise. The combination of jazz virtuosity and hip hop brings a fresh new approach. They seek out songs from the golden era of rap and hip hop and not only cover them, but also rewrite, rearrange and create a completely new work - far from just conventional, one-dimensional covers. The band reached a milestone with their first album "BBNG2" in 2012. They also covered James Blake's CMYK and Buggin' Tnight, among others."
