Eric Clapton and JJ Cale Live in San Diego Eric Clapton fans take note: After last year's release of the CD and LP version of "Eric Clapton: Live In San Diego", the film footage of this special performance is now finally available on DVD and Blu-ray. Taking the stage at the iPayOne Center in San Diego on March 15, 2007, Clapton was joined by none other than JJ Cale. The two guitar virtuosos played five songs together, namely "Anyway the Wind Blows", "After Midnight", "Who Am I Telling You?", "Don't Cry Sister" and of course "Cocaine". Clapton performed, among others, the blues classic "Further On Up The Road" and his legendary ballads "Wonderful Tonight" and "Layla". The album "Live In San Diego" included a total of 17 tracks, including two rehearsal recordings. In addition to Cale Clapton, several other well-known musicians accompanied him on his 2007 world tour, including guitarists Derek Trucks (Tedeschi Trucks Band) and Doyle Bramhall II. The evening in San Diego included another surprise: guitarist Robert Cray came on stage to support the song "Crossroads". A previously unreleased live recording of this memorable concert is now also available on DVD and Blu-ray Disc. Two close friends, two legends on one stage. "Live In San Diego" documents in sound and image one of the last performances of Eric Clapton and JJ Cale together.
