It was also awarded to Kendrick Lamar when he released his remarkable debut Good Kid, M.A.A.D City in 2012. It was too early to make any hasty judgments at the time, but time has proven the glorifications right. In recent years, Lamar has been confirming his exceptionalism with a slew of albums, including the new one DAMN.If you don't mind losing, we can have a good argument: who is really rap's number one and what is the main factor? Juicy flow? Colourful, strong atmosphere-laden lyrics that engulf you? Punchlines that knock your teeth out and burn themselves into your memory like a brand?
