There is no doubt that "Killection", the tenth studio album by Finnish monster rockers Lordi, has become the band's most versatile and remarkable work to date! Officially a rock/heavy metal band, Lordi was founded in 1992 by singer, songwriter and designer Mr. Lordi. The band has deep roots in Finland and hails from Rovaniemi in northern Lapland. In 2006 the band broke through on the international scene by participating in the Eurovision Song Contest ("Hard Rock Hallelujah"). But is this all just our poor little reality and are things really quite different? What if Lordi have actually been around since the early 70s, have been unleashing hit after hit on humanity since then and are now looking back on a whole collection of successful songs? That's exactly the idea behind Lordi's tenth studio album "Killection". Once again, Mr. Lordi presents us with one of his equally absurd and brilliant ideas: "Killection" is a compilation album that pretends Lordi has been around since the early 1970s. It presents all the hits of each decade as they would have sounded if Lordi had made music at that time, and how they would have subsequently had to put together a compilation of their greatest hits now. "'Killection' has become a fictional compilation album," Lordi sums up his crazy idea in his own words. "It contains all the songs Lordi would have written between the early '70s and 1995 if they had existed then. And, as befits a good compilation, it includes a brand new song from 2019."
