McCartney's first solo album was released in 1970, a month before the Beatles' swan song "Let It Be". It was very interesting and it had a certain unpolishedness to it because I went off after the Beatles, I think we all felt that. During the Beatles period, I said to John: "I think I should do an album called Paul McCartney Goes Too Far". He said, "That's a great idea, you should do that. Of course, I never did it. I thought, 'Well, I'll do it one day'."
