One Hot Minute is the sixth studio album by the Red Hot Chili Peppers , released on September 12, 1995. The album was produced by Rick Rubin and featured contributions from Flea, John Frusciante, Anthony Kiedis and Chad Smith. One Hot Minute was the band's first album since Blood Sugar Sex Magik to feature guitarist John Frusciante, and the last to feature drummer Chad Smith until their reunion in 2009. The album was certified gold by the RIAA on January 6, 1997. The album debuted at number five on the Billboard 200 and sold over 150,000 copies in its first week. Three singles were released from the album: "Warped", "Aeroplane" and "My Friends". The song "Aeroplane" was nominated for a Grammy Award in the category of Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal. The album One Hot Minute received mixed reviews from music critics. Some praised the album for its heavier sound, while others criticized it for being too experimental. The album was ranked number 49 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 100 best albums of the 1990s.
