Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me is the seventh studio album by English rock band The Cure , released on 21 May 1987 by the Fiction record label. The album helped cement the band's commercial success and their position among the top of alternative rock. The album spawned three hit singles - "Just Like Heaven", "Hot, Hot, Hot!" and "Why Can't I Be You?" - and went double platinum in the United States. The album was recorded over the course of a year, from March 1986 to March 1987, at RAK Studios in London and Hansa Tonstudios in West Berlin. It was produced by long-time The Cure collaborator Dave Allen and additional production was handled by Phil Thornalley. Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me is a departure from the band's previous work and features a more upbeat and poppy sound. Robert Smith has said of the album that it is "the band's most commercial album" and that he "didn't enjoy making it as much as I enjoyed making the previous three". However, he also stated that it was "one of my favourite albums". The album was well received by critics, with many praising its pop-oriented sound. It was nominated for a Grammy Award
