Legendary U2 release Songs of Experience album!It will be released on December 1One of the most popular rock bands in the world, U2, releases their long-awaited 14th album Songs of Experience, the follow-up to their previous album Songs of Innocence. Both titles reference the eponymous work of 18th century English poet and mystic William Blake. The first single released, You're The Best Thing About Me, became a top 20 track after more than a decade, and even received a remix from Norwegian DJ superstar Kygo.The new album follows the band's huge success with their annual re-release of The Joshua Tree and this year's critically acclaimed tour of the same name, which saw U2 play to nearly 3 million fans over 51 shows.Thematically, the album is heavily influenced by the advice of Irish poet, novelist and University of Dublin professor Brendan Kennelly "...write like you're dead." The result is a collection of songs in the form of intimate letters to places and people close to Bono's heart. The subjects include family, friends, fans and himself, and the album was recorded in Dublin, New York and Los Angeles under the supervision of producer Jacknife Lee, who has worked with R.E.M, One Direction and Taylor Swift, among others, and One Republic singer Ryan Tedder, who is also a songwriter and producer. In the past, he has worked with Madonna, Beyoncé and Ed Sheeran, among others.
