Jalilah's Raks Sharki - Stage Cuts is the seventh album in the "Raks Sharki" series, but this album has one special feature: in collaboration with Piranha Musik, Jalilah has prepared a selection of shortened and remastered versions of existing tracks. Recent developments show that the album has hit the mark. As the dancers now frequently perform at festivals, their performances are subject to tight schedules. Previously, a performance could last up to 20 minutes; nowadays there are often only five minutes left. However, the modified versions also give music lovers a new perspective on oriental music. In creating "Stage Cuts," Jalilah was able to draw on collaborative productions with renowned musicians such as Mokhtar Al-Said and Hossam Shaker. However, it is not only the high level of music that has influenced the new work, it is above all the connection with her idols that is reflected here: 'Stage Cuts' is meant to express my respect for the great dancers in the history of Oriental dance. The album is dedicated to all artists and music lovers who love and appreciate this wonderful kind of dance."
