Emerging Post-Punk Revival Band

Buried Cities, originally known as Revenants was formed in January 2010 by lead vocalist/guitar player Dylan Karn and former lead vocalist Allen Idle (HoboMouth). On the dawn of the new year amidst the chaos in both of their lives, the two decided they should form a band together and quickly began finding recruits. After spreading the word around their circle of friends that they were looking for band mates, Avinash Kinra (Avi for short), an ex-military captain, roommate at the time of a close friend, and punk rocker at heart emerged. Avi and Dylan immediately became good drinking buddies and fortunately their musical stylings clicked as well. Not long after Avi joined the ranks, Allen suggested trying out his longtime friend and former drummer Eric Idle (Randy Jean Baker) from the band Idle Kids. Erics tight, precise, intricate and calculated drum technique blended perfectly with Dylan's unique guitar playing and without hesitation was asked to permanently join the band. After Eric agreed to join the band all that remained was a second guitar player. Having tried out a handful of guitar players only one stood among the lot, a krusty ATX native punk rocker named Johnny six-pack, not only could Johnny keep up with the rest of the band but he also brought his own brand of attitude and song writing to the table as well and gave the band the last touch of street cred they needed to make a mark in this town. Not long after the lineup had been finalized (two months to be exact) the band had a seven song set ready to roll and were anxious to begin playing shows. In April 2010 Revenants came out the gates swinging with all intentions to knock people on their asses, their intensity, positive message, and unique punk rock style resembled that of East Coast hardcore. In June they recorded their debut six song EP with local music producer Chris “Frenchie” Smith in only a matter of two days. The EP was scheduled for release in September but due to personal reasons the date was pushed back to December. In December 2010 on a cold Monday night Revenants packed the inside stage at local music venue Mohawk from wall to wall and tore the place apart, see our music video for the song “Freedom Music” for the evidence. Shortly after the EP was released Allen decided to leave the band to tend to his newly born son leaving Dylan to take the reigns. After Allen's departure the band spent the next year and a half reshaping their sound and chemistry and writing new material that better suited the new lineup, all the while still playing shows under the name Revenants. In August 2012 the four piece recorded 18 songs (only 14 of which were used for their album) at The Shelter in 4 days for their debut self titled full length album. Unfortunately the rest of the process took much longer and it wasn't until one full year later, August 2013 that the album was ready for release but not before completing their transformation and changing their name to Buried Cities. Since the name change and CD release Buried cities has continued to work with the fury and intensity that it began with as Revenants only now more evolved and self aware. The buzz continues around the name and the band has had the privilege of sharing the stage with names such as CJ Ramone, The Misfits, H20, and The Independents. Going four years strong now Buried Cities plans to continue making waves in the music industry and to further evolve their sound and one of a kind punk rock style.
