German Neue Deutsche Welle Band

Extrabreit is a German rock band formed in Hagen, Germany in 1978. They are one of the pioneers of the Neue Deutsche Welle (NDW), the German new wave music movement. Their music combines punk rock and new wave elements with often satirical lyrics. The band achieved significant popularity in Germany in the early 1980s with hits such as "Hurra, hurra, die Schule brennt" and "Flieger, grüß mir die Sonne". Despite disbanding in the mid-1980s, Extrabreit reunited several times and continued to release albums and perform live. They have maintained a dedicated fan base in Germany and are known for their energetic live performances. Throughout their career, Extrabreit has undergone numerous lineup changes but has consistently featured founding members Kai Havaii (vocals) and Stefan Kleinkrieg (guitar).
