Emerging Folk-Rock Ensemble

peasants(tm)'s first release, The Best of Bill Walsh, was born in 1992 with a randomly selected 3-digit number in these co-workers' new phone system and ended with an 'opus' (SPIN magazine, 5/93), about a nebulous protagonist and the fate of his dog which unfolded during production. A release tour of basement parties developed a hearty micro-fanbase along Rock Creek Park in Washington, D.C. The band's sophomore album, Live From Sunny Italy! ('cohesive... gripping' - City Paper, 4/7/95), broadened its horizons to find a global audience. From the opening tone of a didjeridoo (Reunite Gondwanaland) to the closing plaintiff screams of love for plant food (Superthrive), Italy! signaled the bands' commitment to global harmony, whether or not there were any harmonies or melodies or basic understanding of chords. peasants(tm) continues to rehearse and develop new songs in preparation for their ultimate tour: shuttered rest homes and rest areas in the northeastern US and Canadian Maritime region.
