Pussycat

Dutch pop group

Pussycat was a Dutch country and pop group led by the three Kowalczyk sisters: Toni, Betty, and Marianne. They achieved international success in the mid-1970s with their hit single "Mississippi," which topped the charts in several European countries and reached number one in the UK Singles Chart in 1976. The band's music blended elements of pop with country influences, a style that was particularly appealing to European audiences at the time. Pussycat continued to release albums and singles throughout the late 1970s and into the early 1980s, although they never replicated the massive success of "Mississippi." Their discography includes several albums, among which are "Souvenirs," "The Best Of Pussycat," and "Premium Gold Collection," which feature compilations of their hits and fan favorites. The group's popularity waned in the 1980s, but they left a lasting impression on the European music scene with their unique sound and successful crossover into pop music from their country roots.
