Silver Jews was an American indie rock band formed in 1989 by David Berman along with Pavement members Stephen Malkmus and Bob Nastanovich. The band's music is known for its lo-fi aesthetic and was associated with the early '90s indie rock movement. David Berman served as the primary songwriter, vocalist, and guitarist, and his lyrics were widely praised for their poetic nature and depth. Throughout their career, Silver Jews released several albums, including "Starlite Walker" (1994), "The Natural Bridge" (1996), and "American Water" (1998), which is often considered their masterpiece.
