Solveig Faringer

Swedish soprano vocalist and actress, born February 10, 1945 in Stockholm. She is a freelance concert and opera singer and actress. She has performed opera roles such as The Blind Poet in Blomdahl's Aniara, Adèle and Rosalinda in Die Fledermaus, the title roles Ebba in Vogler's Gustav Adolf and Ebba Brahe, Runsten's Amorina and The Penguin in Animalen by Lars Johan Werle. She has also done speech roles. She has held positions at the Royal Opera, Drottningholmsteatern, Malmö City Theater, Stora teatern in Gothenburg, Oscarsteatern and Stadsteatern in Stockholm. She has made record recordings with romances at the record companies BIS and Swedish Society. She has also done a long series of romance programs on Swedish Radio. In addition to this, she is active as a writer and has written kåserier in, among others, Upsala Nya Tidning (1994–2000).
