The Gregg Allman Band was formed by Gregg Allman, best known as a founding member of the legendary rock group The Allman Brothers Band. After the Allman Brothers Band first disbanded in the late 1970s, Gregg Allman pursued a solo career and formed his own band to back him. The Gregg Allman Band provided a platform for Allman to showcase his distinctive voice and soulful blend of rock, blues, and R&B. They released several albums throughout the 1980s, with "I'm No Angel" in 1987 being one of their most commercially successful records. The title track "I'm No Angel" became a hit single, further cementing Gregg Allman's reputation as a formidable artist in his own right. The band's sound often featured elements of Southern rock, a genre that Gregg had helped to pioneer with The Allman Brothers Band. Throughout his career, Gregg Allman was recognized for his contributions to music, including being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with The Allman Brothers Band in 1995.
