Norwegian Black Metal Band

Vreid is a Norwegian black metal band formed in 2004 by former members of the band Windir after its frontman, Valfar, passed away. The name 'Vreid' translates to 'Wrath' in English. The band's music blends black metal with elements of traditional Norwegian folk music and rock 'n' roll, and their lyrics often draw on themes of war, history, and Norse mythology. Since their inception, Vreid has been known for their prolific output and consistent presence in the black metal scene. They have released several albums throughout their career, with "Sólverv" being their seventh studio album, released in 2015. This album was followed by "Lifehunger" in 2018 and "Wild North West" in 2021. Each of these works showcases the band's evolution in sound and composition, reflecting their commitment to exploring new musical territories while staying true to their black metal roots. Vreid's ability to craft atmospheric and melodic music within the framework of aggressive metal has earned them a dedicated following within the genre.
