Disques JMS

French jazz and jazz-fusion label. One of a number of companies and labels established by Jean-Marie Salhani. Disques JMS existed as a label between 1979 and 1982, after which they became known as JMS and later JMS.. The label was handled by the following distributors: 1979-1980 Free Bird, 1980-1982 Polydor, 1982 Adès. Original Disques JMS releases do not have barcodes. The logo design was constant throughout the label's 3 year history. Labels were generally silver print on black/charcoal paper labels, except for later ones pressed by Polydor which had black plastic labels with silver print, and some singles which had Polydor type red extruded plastic labels but with the Disques JMS logo. "Disques JMS" is also used for publishing / production / company roles on Salhani brand releases, and can be added where appropriate.
