On The Fiddle Recordings

On The Fiddle was set up by Brighton band, Levellers in the early 1990s to distribute music to their growing legion of fans. Once signed to China records, the label went into hibernation, with only the occasional releases to fan club members. After Warner Music bought China Records in 2000, the final album of the deal, Hello Pig was not to the liking of their new label and the two parted company. Two albums later, via Eagle Records, the band had had enough of board meetings, A&R men and remixes and decided to go it alone with first release on the resurrected On The Fiddle Recordings in 2006. The live album and DVD ‘Chaos Theory’ outsold their Eagle released albums, justifying the band's decision. Two years later, the band achieved their first Top 30 album in ten years with ‘Letters From The Underground’ and have gone from strength to strength ever since with ‘Static On The Airwaves’ (2012); ‘Greatest Hits’ (2014) and documentary, A Curious Life’ (2015) all making the official Top 30. The John Leckie produced 'We The Collective' album of 2018 eclipsed their independent successes to date, becoming the band’s highest charting album in over 20 years, peaking at Number 12. 2020 sees the Levellers preparing to release their new album, Peace in the autumn with a UK and European tour in support.
