Austrian Schlager Music Singer

Austrian singer, songwriter and guitarist, born 24 October 1958. Since 1982, Gottfried Würcher has been a member of the Nockalm Quintet, which is one of the most successful Austrian groups in the field of popular Schlager. From 1999 to 2010 there was a joint project with the Klostertaler and the Kastelruther Spatzen with the name Die große 3 der Volksmusik. Even before this project released its last album, Würcher tried his hand at a solo album in 2010. It bears the title So bin ich and was able to build on the successes with the Nockalm Quintet. Since 2003, all albums of the group had taken either first or second place in Austria, Würcher reached number 3 with his solo debut and also placed in Switzerland. Afterwards he concentrated again on working with the Nockalm Quintet. Only a few years later he decided to write a second solo album. Gedankenspiel was published at the end of February 2015 and reached number 4 in Austria. Like So bin ich, this album also reached gold status (7500 copies sold).
