The Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Leipzig, also known as the Leipzig Radio Symphony Orchestra, is a renowned German orchestra with a rich history dating back to its founding in 1923. Throughout its career, the orchestra has been associated with the broadcast of classical music, initially under the auspices of Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk (Central German Broadcasting) and later as part of the public broadcasting organization MDR (Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk). The ensemble has developed a reputation for its interpretations of both the classical repertoire and contemporary works.
