Underoath is an American rock band from Tampa, Florida, formed in 1997. The group has undergone several lineup changes throughout its career but has retained a consistent presence in the post-hardcore and metalcore scenes. Underoath's music is characterized by a combination of aggressive guitar riffs, intricate drumming, and both screamed and clean vocals. They initially gained recognition with their 2004 release "They're Only Chasing Safety," which brought them into the mainstream spotlight. Following this success, they released "Define the Great Line" in 2006, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart.
