Dion Francis DiMucci, known professionally as Dion, is an American singer, songwriter, and musician whose career has spanned several decades. Born on July 18, 1939, in the Bronx, New York, he first gained fame as the lead singer of Dion and the Belmonts in the late 1950s with hits like "A Teenager in Love" and "Where or When." After parting ways with the Belmonts, Dion embarked on a successful solo career and scored one of his biggest hits with "The Wanderer" in 1961. This song became an emblem of his rock and roll style and is considered a classic of the era.
