Discovery Records

US label launched in the late 40s by Albert Marx; also appears as "Discovery" only. Label Code: LC 4035 / LC 04035 First album "Fantasy For Girl And Orchestra" by Phil Moore was released in Jan. 1949. First 45rpm was released in Jan. 1950. It was reactivated in the late 70s. Masters were later purchased by Jac Holzman & Keith Holzman in Nov. 1991. Upon acquisition, Holzman also refashioned Discovery as a contemporary pop label. Discovery was acquired by Warner Music Group in 1993 and absorbed by Sire in 1996.
